Happy Birthday Halle!

My niece Halle turned the big 5 today.... In true Halle fashion she celebrated the day with a manicure and a dinner date with her Grandma and Papa. Halle can't wait for her birthday party at Leo's Place on Saturday. Halle is growing up so fast. just the other day she told me she was going to marry Nick Jonas, but she had to wait until she was a teenager. Too funny!!! I was actually in the delivery room when Halle took her first breath. She's the oldest of the grand kids and makes sure everyone knows it!!! Love you Halle Bear.

Anyone dare me????

Happy 50th Dad!!!

My Dad's favorite place

PAPA DAN

It seems like just yesterday I was baking my dad "Welcome Home" cakes weekly from all of his business trips. My dad is 50? Most of my friends dads are way past 50 now. I am the oldest though and in keeping true to Mormon traditions my Dad got started pretty early.
Sometimes he refers to himself as, "The Legend". Us four kids just call him dad. Although I do remember a short rebellious phase I went through in junior high where Itold hm I would now be calling him, "Dan". I was simply too mature for such a word as dad. I wish so bad that I would have saved the two page poem my dad wrote to me explaining why he would really like to be called DAD and how proud he was to be my dad. Although My dad can ride dirt bikes, fix anything do all sorts of crazy things on his boat, he also knows how to be so sensitive when dealing with everybody. He has that special talent of making whoever he's talking to feel like the only person in the room. Trust me, he can talk to anyone about anything. I love you dad....

IN KEEPING WITH TRADITION, HERE ARE A FEW RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MY DAD

1. once upon a time he could barefoot water ski
2. He's a political warrior!!!! In a "Rush is Right" sort of way
3. When I was younger and he didn't approve of my out fit he would say, "Go upstairs and try again, KELLY BUNDY!
4. He's made more barbecue chicken than any other man on the planet
5. when we were little he would take us on a special date of Go Cart racing and dinner. We got to choose the restaurant and wear an overly dressy church dress for the occasion.
6. He actually conducts "Family Meetings" and you thought that was only on sitcoms.
7. Some of his famous lectures are titled.... BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND, PISS POOR PLANNING CREATES PISS POOR RESULTS, EVEN IF YOU BECOME A JANITOR BE THE BEST ONE IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD, I KNOW WHAT BOYS WANT, THE PERILS OF INSTANT GRATIFICATION, LIFE IS A TERMINAL DISEASE, FIREMAN ARE LAZY MEN WITH TOO MANY DAYS OFF TO HIT ON OTHER PEOPLES WIVES AT THE GYM, BEWARE OF MEN WHO COLLECT TRAINS, ALL WOMEN ARE ATTENTION WHORES, I could go on for days.......
8. He's a self educated man with more knowledge than most with a PHD
9. My first job was rubbing his feet for money. As I got older and perfected my skills he would pay me a dollar a minute.
10. He is the coolest dad around, and I am soooo glad he's mine.

Calyn's Shower

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Breanne and my mom decorated this cute diaper cake!

One hot mamma

Everyone guessed too big. HAHA

We had a shower for Calyn's baby boy on Saturday. It turned out adorable! Like I said before I tried to go with the "Bun in the Oven" theme! We partied it up at Mrs. Powells. We feasted on delicious soups, sandwiches, and of course some cinnamon rolls. Calyn got so many nice gifts. She Couldn't wait to get home and arrange them all perfectly in little Drake? or Preston's? nursery. She is officially all set up for motherhood. I've even heard rumors that Trevor has been caught taking the new stroller on test runs.... Thanks for coming everyone.

Happy Birthday Mom..

Making the decision to have a child is momentous..
It is to decide forever to have your heart go
walking outside your body"

Born to be a mom

My mom turned one year older and one year sexier on the 4th. Is there really any way we can put into words the we feel about our mothers? My mom is simply the most amazing woman that ever lived. I've never seen a more devoted mom or grandma. My moms three girls were and are her whole life. You never really understand the magnitude of what your mom did for you until you have your very own kids. In the first new days of being a new mom I remember looking at my little baby and thinking, "I can't believe this is the way my mom feels about me too".
My mom is truly her own breed! She's full of so many crazy quirks. It's all just part of her undeniable charm. Some of my favorite "momisms" from her are: "Only boring people get bored" and "Being pissed off is a lot better than being pissed on". My sisters and I often talk about what a legacy we have to live up to in order to be even half the mother she was to us. Everyone she's ever met falls in love with her. Maybe it's the Bourne Butt! I love your ever lovin guts mom.

A FEW THINGS EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT MY MOM

1. She pretty much invented the leisure suit and still sports it proudly
2. She laughs hysterically when other people get hurt! (Sounds worse than it is)
3. She's a sucker for purses and makeup
4. She used to make us bake cookies for homeless people on odd holidays. I'm sure the homeless really loved our green homemade shamrock cookies
5. She used to make us bring playing cards into rest homes and attempt to play cards with the residents
6. Her tiny body bore three girls over ten ponds each
7. She is an addict when it comes to Pepsi (In a can)
8. She refuses most medicine even when it's necessary
9. She is an amazing cake decorator
10. I've never seen her nap
11. She believes that Binkys and Bottles should never be taken away
12. She used to scare us kids by putting a nylon over her head and pretending she lived under our beds and survived on cracker crumbs.
13. Growing up in a house with all girls we were naturally curious about man parts. She solved the mystery by showing us a playgirl centerfold. Mystery solved. We were terrified.
14. She used to rake the carpet after vac cumming it to give it those perfect OCD line she craves
15. Her hands are unfazed by 130 degree dish water
16. She is a world record jump roper

1st day of preschool.......

All ready for his big day!
The signature 1st day of school porch pose!

A call from Grandma to wish him luck!

The time has come. My little boy is growing up. I can't believe he is already in preschool. I used to hear stories from women about how hard it was to send their little ones to school and think they were such saps. I have become the biggest sap ever. Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones but I have cried over this day way to many times.
This weekend we got all the first day of school gear. Incredible Hulk lunch box, A backpack, and special treats for his lunches. Jaxon is more than excited to have his own backpack and lunch box. In fact I've never seen him more proud about anything ever. He goes 2 days a week to the Teton Valley Community School. This school is amazing. They raise their own chickens, have horses, a garden, an Olympic size sandbox, and all the coolest toys. Inside, the class is setup with creative learning stations everywhere. The kids can paint, color, bead, build train tracks, do wood work (Complete with the littlest safety goggles I have ever seen),read stories and play with fire belly frogs.
I lingered at school a little longer than most of the moms just to be sure he was O.K. When I told him goodbye he asked if I could stay at school with him. I told him They don't let moms go to preschool and that I was already a graduate of preschool. That answer must have been good enough for him because he was waving goodbye to me right after that. I know it's just preschool but I can't help how proud I am of him. I can't even imagine what it would be like to watch your child win a gold medal or graduate from college. I can't wait.
